Advanced Online Insights Collaborates with Finnish Company Autori to Bring Innovation to Utilities
Advanced Online Insights, a digital information company focused on virtual tours and Google products, services, and technology, announced a collaboration with Autori, a Finland-based company that provides software and information services for road and street maintenance. The partnership aims to merge Advanced Online Insights’ ability to capture private roads and their utility structures with Autori’s software services to manage maintenance needs.
Advanced Online Insights currently uses its Street View on Demand services to update Google Maps for private individuals, businesses, and municipalities. Using its leading technology and 360° cameras, Advanced Online Insights can navigate roads, pathways, and trails to capture visual data and upload it directly to Google Maps. Together with Autori, Advanced Online Insights hopes to offer private Street View on Demand services to utility companies, airports, railroad operators, and other large entities.
The objective of the collaboration is to help these companies cut down on site visits, thereby saving resources such as time and money, by providing online virtual access to utility structures like telephone poles, electric power grids, and more. Rather than deploying staff to complete site visits, utility companies can leverage the latest virtual imagery of a specific structure or site to assess its condition and need for maintenance work and updates.
Autori has been providing similar services in Finland and Europe. Autori Vista image management services have been used in the maintenance and design of roads, streets, and other infrastructure. The results include: streamlined operations, improved job quality, and increased cost efficiencies, according to Autori.
The collaboration between Autori and Advanced Online Insights would bring its services to the United States, allowing US-based utility companies to digitize their maintenance services using 360° imagery and image data.
Autori visited Advanced Online Insights in June 2022 to officially begin the collaboration.
